More importantly, Google Chrome 3 Beta is 30% faster than it’s predecessor, which was itself pretty fast.
The post on the Google Chrome Blog explains what the new features are:
- Customisation of the ‘new tab’ page – that’s the page you get when you click to open a new tab. For example, rearranging the website thumbails.
- Improvement of the ‘Omnibox’ – Also know as the address bar. Typing into it gives you various options to search the web, your history, bookmarks, etc… New icons help you distinguish between these.
- Themes – To add a little colour to the interface visit the Theme Gallery.
- HTML 5 support – This will allow web designers to produce more meaningful code and functional websites. To learn more about HTML have a look at the Draft Standard.
- Speed – 30% faster than the previous version.
