The web is the platform. Google Chrome OS will allow you to access it quickly and securely.

Google are designing the system to boot up fast and connect you to the internet straight away, to get you online and ready to run programs and access your files.

If you use Hotmail or YouTube you are already using an application compatible with Google Chrome OS. Of course you can do the same from your Windows based PC or Apple Mac, but these have not been developed specifically for a 100% online experience.
